Rosemary's Blessing of  The Week:

Lord …

Help us to hear your voice …

In the quiet, in the storm, and in each other.

Help us to share your words …

In loving and caring for ourselves and each other.

    Rosemary's Blessing:

We end this meal with grace

For the joy and nourishment of food,

The slowed time away from the world

To come into presence with each other

We pray the wise spirit who keeps us

To change the structures that make others hunger

And that after such grace we might go forth

And impart dignity wherever we partake.

    Aspen Glow 1

Alpen Glow, evening, from a large granite boulder above one of the best campsites, after descending from Burrow pass, 11k plus, on the shore of Piutte Creek, night 6 or 7, probably night 6 because on night 7 we had an enormous rain, wind, lightening, and thunder storm about 8-9 P.M. Everybody survived the storm quite well.

    Crossing 1

Stream crossing on the very last day of the 9 days.   A humbling experience for an old ex-Jesuit who thinks he knows the Matterhorn hike like a bike ride around White Rock Lake.  Since the past two Matterhorn hikes had low water in the creeks, so must be the case this year.  Wrong!  High water was everywhere.  Late & heavy snow.  Thanks, Andy, for loaning me your Keene sandals all 8 or 10 times I needed them.

  • Special Announcement

A Special Note from Cathy Bambanek

My mom passed away Friday from congestive heart failure.

Visitation is at 7:00PM-8 Tuesday, with a rosary at 8, more visitation until 9.  This is at Ted Dickey West on the George Bush Highway.

A funeral mass will be said at 10:30  Wednesday at St. Marks on 15th Street.  There will be a luncheon afterwards at the church and all are welcome to attend.  Then the cemetary at 1:30.

I would love to have you come to any or all of them.

If you would like to bring something to the house, we need beer, wine, and appetizers to serve to relatives coming from out of town.  They will only be here Tues and Wed, so we do not need a lot of food.

My address is 2505 heather hill lane.

Thanks to all of you for being great friends.  Please pray for my family at this stressful time.

(Sorry, Cathy, I did not get this before publishing the Sunday blog.)
