Masses:

  • Fourth Sunday of Advent, this Sunday: 9:30; coffee, donuts, home made muffins, & juice on the house.  Readings: Isaiah 7, 10-14; Psalm 24; Romans, 1, 1-7; Matthew 1, 18-24.
  • Christmas Eve, 4:00 P.M.; Readings: Isaiah 9, 1-6; Psalm 96; Titus 2, 11-14, Luke 2, 1-14.

Place: Vines High School on 15th between Custer & Independence.

Tom & Lynda Fleming say thanks for the prayers for their marathon, The Rock.  Tom’s 3:29 qualified him for The Boston.  He already has his ticket.

No Mass the Sunday after Christmas, Dec. 30: .  Rosemary & I will be in Mexico.

    We have been supporting LifeNet which provides housing for the homeless.  We donated $1000 last Christmas and will do so this Christmas.  We have served Thanksgiving dinner to their homeless the past two Thanksgivings.  A great agency.  The Dallas Morning News, Wednesday, the 29th, has an good article: Download Homeless – LifeNet

    4.  Christmas Concert at the Meyerson:
    believe it or not, it is time to buy our group tickets.  We will have a
    sign up sheet Sunday and Rosemary will begin talks with her rep, Blake, at the Meyerson.  Included will be a visit to the Rectory for wine & cheese
    and a ride through Highland Park to see the best lights.  We have a date: December 19 and tickets will be around $50.  

    Connected with this, a plan is developing to visit the Christmas lights in Highland Park on bikes one evening, a common event.  We have our guide, Chris Phipps, who lives there, and the old geezer can second, since this is his old neighborhood.  Get your bike lights polished.
