Matthew 22:  He said to them, “Whose image is this and whose inscription?”  They replied, “Caesar’s.”  At that he said to them,  “Then repay to Caesar what belongs to Caesar and to God what belongs to God.”

One of the best exercises in life is to make a list of all the things that make you happy. Now look at it. If anything on that list takes away from your intellectual development, personal development and ability to have friends, beauty, time, spiritual development, family, think carefully before you give yourself away to it.

They asked Duke Ellington how he learned to play such soulful music and he told them, “I merely took the energy it takes to pout and wrote some blues.” Point: It’s learning to let what’s in us out that is the key to becoming the fullness of the self.
