  Kidnap 1

Could this be a case of child kidnapping???

True?

Just before the funeral services, the undertaker came up to the very elderly widow and asked,

"How old was your husband?"

"98," she replied: "Two years older than me"

"So you're 96," the undertaker commented.

She responded, "Hardly worth going home, is it?"

Kidnap 2

I think so!  Is that a funny man, Atlas?

See you Sunday.

  • Reminder for 14th Sunday in Ordinary Time, July 7, 2024

Ezekiel 2:   Tell them, 'This is the Message of God, the Master.'   They are a defiant bunch. Whether or not they listen, at least they'll know that a prophet's been here.

2 Corinthians 12:  At first I didn't think of it as a gift, and begged God to remove it. Three times I did that,  and then he told me, My grace is enough; it's all you need. My strength comes into its own in your weakness.

Mark 6:    Jesus told them, "A prophet has little honor in his hometown, among his relatives, on the streets he played in as a child."

Prayer for Peace by St. John XXIII

    Lord Jesus Christ,

who are called the Prince of Peace,

who are yourself our peace and reconciliation,

who so often said, “Peace to you,”

    grant us peace.

Make all men and women witnesses of

    truth, justice, and brotherly love.

Banish from their hearts whatever might endanger peace.

Enlighten our rulers that they may guarantee

and defend the great gift of peace.

May all peoples of the earth becomes as brothers and sisters.

    May longed-for peace blossom forth

and reign always over us all.

1 Thessalonians 1: And you became imitators of us and of the Lord, receiving the word in great affliction, with joy from the Holy Spirit, so that you became a model for all the believers in Macedonia and in Achaia.

Matthew 22: He said to him, "You shall love the Lord, your God, with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the greatest and the first commandment. The second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.
