Reminder for 27th Sunday in Ordinary Time, October 6, 2024

Isaiah 40:  Thunder in the desert! "Prepare for God's arrival! Make the road straight and smooth, a highway fit for our God.  Fill in the valleys, level off the hills, Smooth out the ruts, clear out the rocks.

Titus 2:  But when God, our kind and loving Savior God, stepped in,  he saved us from all that. It was all his doing; we had nothing to do with it. He gave us a good bath, and we came out of it new people, washed inside and out by the Holy Spirit.

Luke 3:  After all the people were baptized, Jesus was baptized. As he was praying, the sky opened up and the Holy Spirit, like a dove descending, came down on him. And along with the Spirit, a voice: "You are my Son, chosen and marked by my love, pride of my life." Son of Adam, Son of God

Exodus 3:  God replied, “I am who am.”  Then he added, “This is what you shall tell the Israelites: I AM sent me to you.”

1 Corinthians 10:  These things happened as examples for us, so that we might not desire evil things, as they did.

Luke 13:  ‘Sir, leave it for this year also, and I shall cultivate the ground around it and fertilize it; it may bear fruit in the future.  If not you can cut it down.’”

Another Reminder for the 3rd Sunday in Lent, March 23, 2025

Acts of the Apostles 10: You know what has happened all over Judea, beginning in Galilee after the baptism that John preached, how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power.  He went about doing good and healing all those oppressed by the devil, for God was with him.

Colossians 3:  When Christ your life appears, then you too will appear with him in glory.

John 20:  Then the other disciple also went in, the one who had arrived at the tomb first, and he saw and believed.   For they did not yet understand the Scripture that he had to rise from the dead.

 

Isaiah 9: For a child is born to us, a son is given us; upon his shoulder dominion rests.

Titus 2:  Beloved: The grace  of God has appeared, saving all and training us to reject godless ways and worldly desires and to live temperately, justly, and devoutly in this age . . .
