Reminder for the 25th Sunday in Ordinary Time, September 21, 2025

Amos 8: Hear this, you who trample upon the needy and destroy the poor of the land!
1 Timothy 2:  It is my wish, then, that in every place the men should pray, lifting up holy hands, without anger or argument.
Luke 16: No servant can serve two masters.  He will either hate one and love the other, or be devoted to one and despise the other.  You cannot serve both God and mammon.

John Cade’s Homily from last Sunday, September 14, 2025
09-14-25 Homily -Exhaltation of the Holy Cross

True is always better than false—even where I myself am concerned. “If most of us are ashamed of shabby clothes and shoddy furniture,” Einstein wrote, “let us be more ashamed of shabby ideas and shoddy philosophies… It would be a sad situation if the wrapper were better than the meat wrapped inside it.”
The Monastic Way, Sister Joan Chittister
