4thd Sunday of Advent, December 21, 2025

Thanksgiving Mass: Last Sunday of this Church Calendar Year: 9:30; coffee, donuts, home made muffins, & juice on the house.

Place: Vines High School on 15th between Custer & Independence.

Readings: Sirach 50 22-24; Psalm 113; 1 Corinthians 1, 3-9; Luke 17, 11-19 (these are the readings for Thanksgiving, Nov. 22, page 88 in our booklets)

Thankgiving Tree: we will set up a tree with lights on the stage.  Nearby will be paper ornaments on which you may answer the question, " I thank God this year for…"  Use the ribbons to tie it onto the tree.  Kids will find special ornaments that have a picture to color on one side, while the blessing can be put on the other side.  We will keep it up every Sunday into Christmas Eve Mass at 4:00.  Perhaps a couple of blessings can be read anonymously each Sunday.  Our Thanksgiving continues into Christmas.

Result of the informal poll on our Mass time: wide preference for 9:30, as it is.

Tree Project update: maybe in December?  Waiting to hear from Collin Co. Child Advocacy Center, Park & Los Rios.

Nov. 17 Work Project: Alex Moore of Lakepoint Church helped us tremendously with our Rowlett house.  He now has a special renovation project which needs volunteer help.  It is quite a project involving another church in south Dallas.  Check out the project:  Download Nov. 17 Project.doc    Rosemary & I will be there. From Tom Quinn: Do you know anyone interested in an entertainment center?  It’s a beautiful piece of blonde furniture that is in great condition.  I can’t seem to get any of the Charities to pick it up as I don’t have the vehicle to deliver it.  Quinn, Tom & Theresa, E-mail Address:  tntquinn@peoplepc.com

November 25: No Mass the Sunday just after Thanksgiving.  Rosemary & I will be at her sister Clare’s house.

December 9: Save Your Blood for the Christmas Blood Drive and Brunch.

See you Sunday.

Another Reminder for Sunday, August 29, 2021.

Here are the links for Sunday:

Wisdom 9:  Or who ever knew your counsel, except you had given wisdom and sent your holy spirit from on high?

Philemon 9:  … but even more so to you, as a man and in the Lord.

Luke 14:  In the same way, anyone of you who does not renounce all his possessions cannot be my disciple.

Very Important Please Read

John Stack and Rosemary are still Covid positive.  Even if they turn negative by Friday, it is probably better for all concerned that we do not come together for Mass on Sunday.  Therefore there will not be a live Mass at the Art Centre on Sunday.  Mass will be on Zoom at the link below.

Also Important

Starting Sunday, September 11th, we will be meeting at:

Art Centre of Plano

902 E. 16th St, Plano

Please use the Haggard Park side entrance.

Isaiah 55:  I will renew with you the everlasting covenant, the benefits assured to David.
Romans 8:   What will separate us from the love of Christ?   Will anguish, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or the sword?   No, in all these things we conquer overwhelmingly through him who loved us.
Matthew 43:  But they said to him, “Five loaves and two fish are all we have here.”  Then he said, “Bring them here to me,” and he ordered the crowds to sit down on the grass.  Taking the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to heaven, he said the blessing, broke the loaves, and gave them to the disciples, who in turn gave them to the crowds.  They all ate and were satisfied,

Celebration is the proof that we have come to distinguish the act of breathing from the gift of being alive. Somewhere it is written, “When life is sweet, say thank you and celebrate. And when life is bitter, say thank you and grow.”
