With their good looking biking uniforms with wings on their backs, the 125 U.S. Air Force Cycling Team members were everywhere. A daily handsome sight.

15-20 K people, who knows? The crowds were so dense that you had to walk through the pass through towns. It was worth it with all the entertainment and vendors.

On the road the lines stretched out and there were contemplative moments of beautiful peace.

Alpen Glow, evening, from a large granite boulder above one of the best campsites, after descending from Burrow pass, 11k plus, on the shore of Piutte Creek, night 6 or 7, probably night 6 because on night 7 we had an enormous rain, wind, lightening, and thunder storm about 8-9 P.M. Everybody survived the storm quite well.

Stream crossing on the very last day of the 9 days.   A humbling experience for an old ex-Jesuit who thinks he knows the Matterhorn hike like a bike ride around White Rock Lake.  Since the past two Matterhorn hikes had low water in the creeks, so must be the case this year.  Wrong!  High water was everywhere.  Late & heavy snow.  Thanks, Andy, for loaning me your Keene sandals all 8 or 10 times I needed them.
