    As many of you know, I’m part of a lovely company called Caring Transitions that helps seniors downsize and relocate and conduct estate sales. Similar to the angel trees that you see in shopping malls for children, senior citizens also need our help to make their holidays brighter.     Each Fall, Single Parent Advocate provides Thanksgiving and Christmas food, gifts, and other resources to families in order to help them overcome the everyday obstacles of being a Single Parent and also to empower and encourage each of them to stay the course.

    1.  Habitat Build, Saturday morning, 11th Street & Ave. E.  Welcome.  This is a unique experience of giving.

    2.  Dallas Symphony Orchestra Christmas Concert.  It may be only August, but this superb performance sells out.  We get discounted tickets as a group and because we know someone.  Date: December 14, 8:00, tickets will be $37 or $47.  Wine & Cheese at The Rectory pre-performance.  Traditionally, this has been a beautiful evening.

    The new way to find the you tube broadcast will be as follows :
    1. in your browser, go to   youtube.com
    2. search for "john stack ministries"
    That's it !   You will see a list of stack's broadcasts,
    including the one(s) scheduled in the future.
    Just click on the one you want.
     
    Both methods work now.   A couple weeks ago I changed the broadcast attributes from Private to Public.
    To see a private broadcast you had to know the link, but you can find a public broadcast just by searching for it.  You can even Subscribe to Stack's channel.

    A teenage boy had just passed his driving test and inquired of his father as to when they could discuss his use of the car. His father said he'd make a deal with his son, "You bring your grades up from a C to a B average, study your Bible a little, and get your hair cut. Then we'll talk about the car." The boy thought about that for a moment, decided, he'd settle for the offer, and they agreed on it.After about six weeks his father said, "Son, you've brought your grades up and I've observed that you have been studying your Bible, but I'm disappointed you haven't had your hair cut." The boy said, "You know, Dad, I've been thinking about that, and I've noticed in my studies of the Bible that Samson had long hair, John the Baptist had long hair, Moses had long hair, and there's even strong evidence that Jesus had long hair.
