      The opera is Die Fledermaus (dallasopera.org) – you can always double check and/or get tickets on the website.
      My performance dates are Dec. 5, 7, 10, and 13.
      Every show starts at 7:30 pm except for the matinee which is the 7th – it starts at 2:00 pm.
      There are reduced rates for groups of 10 or more.

    We have a Christmas family: mom, 3 little girls, and a baby boy on the way.  Date to finish: Dec. 14.  We have a list of toys & items needed.  Beth will present the list again Sunday and the gifts can be struck off of the list.  The attachment has ideas: Download Christmas Family 12-6

    If interested in helping to tutor math on Tuesday evenings, 6:00pm to 7:30 pm, at Harrington Library you can find out more about the program at:  http://www.intellichoice.org/   You will work with kids from grade 1 to grade 12.  Materials provided.  I have helped out for about 5 years.  The program is wonderful and the kids at Harrington are great.

    Welcome to the little village of Shelby. Up the hill the crowd of riders is so dense you have to walk. Apologies for all pix on RAGBRAI (Register's Annual Great Bike Ride across Iowa). This event was such a marvelous slice of Americana at its very best. 35,000 riders estimated.

    These little ladies told me they are Mennonites. They make a wicked Rhubarb-Strawberry pie, $2, per slice. I had 4 one day.

    Day 4, departing from Des Moines, we arrived at the little town of Runnels, my favorite pass through town. The high school band welcomed us along with cheerleaders, big and little, and beautiful shade. Impossible to get out of Runnels in less than 2 hours.

     

     Community Events:  

      1.   Our next Habitat special day is, August 3, This Saturday.  Look for the neighborhood behind the Home Depot on Central, 11th & Ave. E.  
    A person may also work any Saturday.  We are getting there.

    2.   ROMEO lunch Friday, July 26, 1:00, as usual.   

     3.  The Women's Lunch Group on Thursdays is on vacation until August.    For info talk with Carol or Bernadette.
