From Tom Fleming with Habitat:
There has been a build started in Wylie and we can participate in a number of ways:
1. This particular build has not been funded by IB4H. The funding has been provided by Thrivant Financial, a Lutheran faith financial institution. They require 50% participation by Lutherans in order to maintain funding. This will mean fewer opportunities for those of us who are not Lutheran. However, we have been notified that there are 20+ openings for volunteers on Saturday May 5 and May 12. This is when the basic framing and construction will be done and veteran Habitat folks say this can be especially rewarding to see/do. We will need to sign up volunteers on Sunday. We can supply one to 20 people, depending on how many are interested
2. We have volunteered John Stack Ministries to provide a light breakfast and lunch for the volunteer workers on Saturday, May 19th. This will entail a typical continental type of breakfast and a lunch as simple or elaborate as we choose. (Ideas for lunch range from sandwiches put together by the workers on the spot to pizza to chili.) There are 40 workers scheduled to be at the build on the 19th. We will take care of coordinating the effort. Clearly, the more hands the lighter the effort.
3. Fund raising can be done in two ways: Direct donations from churches and fund raisers done for IP4H. We have pledged $1,000 for this year for our direct donation. In addition, we have signed up a number of people from our group for the Tom Thumb/Kroger fund raising. I don’t know the breakdown by congregation; however, we know that Interfaith Partners for Habitat (IP4H) raises over $500 per month from the reward card donations. We would like to again offer to sign up members of our church over the next 2 or 3 Sundays.

To the San Vino Community from Cheryl Ann & the C.C. Adult Clinic:
We would be remiss if we did not let you know how very much your support and monthly donations mean to the clinic. We think of you as our lifeline in offsetting out biggest headache – our monthly rent.
Thanks to the good word you preach, we also have a number of volunteers for Stack Ministries who are regular and loyal volunteers of the clinic. Many of them will tell you, Thursday nights are rally a full day’s work and we are fortunate and blessed to have the support and help from you all. Thank you, thank you and may you all reap a hundredfold the rewards of your kindness.
Remember: Wendy’s recital Friday night, 6:00, SMU.
