Reminder for the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, September 14, 2025

Numbers 21:  Moses accordingly made a bronze serpent and mounted it on a pole, and whenever anyone who had been bitten by a serpent looked at the bronze serpent, he lived.
Philippians 2:  Because of this, God greatly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bend, …
John 3:  For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but might have eternal life.

There is no person below us and none above us either. We will be judged both on our respect for others and on our sense of the equality of all.
The Monastic Way, Sister Joan Chittister

     True?

“The end of violence or the
aftermath of violence is bitterness. The aftermath of nonviolence is
reconciliation and the creation of a beloved community. A boycott is never an
end within itself. It is merely a means to awaken a sense of shame within the
oppressor but the end is reconciliation, the end is redemption.”
