2 Timothy 3:  …proclaim the word; be persistent whether it is convenient or inconvenient; convince, reprimand, encourage through all patience and teaching.

Luke 17:  For a long time the judge was unwilling, but eventually he thought, "While it is true that I neither fear God nor respect any human being, because this widow keeps bothering me I shall deliver a just decision for her lest she finally come and strike me."

    This year we are going to the Meyerson on Friday, December 16th at 7:30 pm.   We will have seats in the Orchestra section at approximately $45.00 per person.  Please let Rosemary (rosemary.mcginn@sbcglobal.net) know as soon as possible if you are interested in going.  

    Something new and special this year.  We will meet before the 7:30 concert at the condo of Beth & Rob at 2111 Marilla on the corner with S. Pearl across the street from the Dallas Farmers’ Market.

     You have doubts?  This is alligator habitat, nice cool lagoon, warm bank for sunbathing.   One warm Sunday afternoon during a Thanksgiving week, there was a, say, 5 foot, sunbather.   Problem: blind curves on the bike path.  Thanks be to other cyclists and walkers who warned this biker.

    Welcome to the little village of Shelby. Up the hill the crowd of riders is so dense you have to walk. Apologies for all pix on RAGBRAI (Register's Annual Great Bike Ride across Iowa). This event was such a marvelous slice of Americana at its very best. 35,000 riders estimated.

    These little ladies told me they are Mennonites. They make a wicked Rhubarb-Strawberry pie, $2, per slice. I had 4 one day.

    Day 4, departing from Des Moines, we arrived at the little town of Runnels, my favorite pass through town. The high school band welcomed us along with cheerleaders, big and little, and beautiful shade. Impossible to get out of Runnels in less than 2 hours.

     

     Community Events:  

      1.   Our next Habitat special day is, August 3, This Saturday.  Look for the neighborhood behind the Home Depot on Central, 11th & Ave. E.  
    A person may also work any Saturday.  We are getting there.

    2.   ROMEO lunch Friday, July 26, 1:00, as usual.   

     3.  The Women's Lunch Group on Thursdays is on vacation until August.    For info talk with Carol or Bernadette.
