True?  I believe there is an important distinction to be made between religion and spirituality. Religion I take to be concerned with belief in the claims to salvation of one faith tradition or another–an aspect of which is acceptance of some form of meta-physical or philosophical reality, including perhaps an idea of heaven or hell. Connected with this are religious teachings or dogma, ritual, prayers and so on.   1.   Highly recommended: The Open Window of Dallas is bringing to Dallas Francis Vanderwall, a biblical scholar and great presenter.  He is a long time friend and former Jesuit.
 He will join us for Mass on Sunday, Sept. 29, but will share his insights
into the Bible on Saturday, the 28th.  You will find it a fascinating and

2.  ROMEO lunch Friday, September 20, 1:00.  We are home.

 3.  The Women's Lunch Group on Thursdays begins again, this time at The Olive Garden, Central and Plano Pkwy, northbound service road.    For more info talk with Carol or Bernadette.

4.  Christmas Concert at the Meyerson:
believe it or not, it is time to buy our group tickets.  We will have a
sign up sheet Sunday and Rosemary will begin talks with her rep, Blake, at the Meyerson.  Included will be a visit to the Rectory for wine & cheese
and a ride through Highland Park to see the best lights.  We have a date: December 19 and tickets will be around $50.  

Connected with this, a plan is developing to visit the Christmas lights in Highland Park on bikes one evening, a common event.  We have our guide, Chris Phipps, who lives there, and the old geezer can second, since this is his old neighborhood.  Get your bike lights polished.
