Rosemary's Blessing:

A Thanksgiving prayer from a Dear Abbey column:

“Father and Mother of all:

We give thanks for food and remember the hungry,

We give thanks for health and remember the sick,

We give thanks for friends and remember the friendless,

We give thanks for freedom and remember the enslaved.

May our giving thanks stir us to service, that our blessings may be shared with others. Amen.”

Loving God, through the gift of our fathers,
you reveal your wisdom, love and care.

Continue to bless and guide these holy men
you have given to us in our lives.

    Support them in their call
to lead holy lives of faithfulness, respect and integrity.

May their witness of faith and love
shine from them and on their children and families
giving hope and encouragement to all.

Bless them for all the ways they lift their children to achieve their dreams.
Bless them for their sacrifice, their forgiveness and their guidance.

    1.  Been off pain meds since Tuesday.  Not because of being macho.  Just no pain.

    2.  The physical therapist says the therapy is going so good that probably Monday we will get rid of the walker and use a cane to walk with.

    3.  I was told one hour of being up, one hour of rest.  So true.  After an hour sitting up, I am exhausted and can sleep an hour.  In fact, I am delighted that the exhaustion, the trembles, the cold to the bone feeling, and the dizziness at the end of the hour has gone away a day or so ago.

    4.  Thanks for everything, the food, the special, community blessed shawl, and the affirmation.
