    1.  Habitat Build, Saturday morning, the 18th, 11th Street & Ave. E.  Welcome.  This is a unique experience of giving.

    2.  Dallas Symphony Orchestra Christmas Concert.  It may be only August, but this superb performance sells out.  We get discounted tickets as a group and because we know someone.  Date: December 14, 8:00, tickets will be $37 or $47.  Wine & Cheese at The Rectory pre-performance.  Traditionally, this has been a beautiful evening.

    3.  Free Medical Clinic in September (message from John Ernst, CCAC):   "September 29, there will be a large one day free clinic at the Dallas Convention Center sponsored by our national organization, of which we are members.  Thousands of people will be served all by volunteers."  Download Medical clinic 8-10-12

    From Marianne Elwell concerning the cruise next summer:

    Re the cruise – if someone is interested in the cruise, or even think they might be interested, they only have to put a deposit of $25.00 per person by 8/26.  They can always cancel (up to a certain point and I will find out what the latest cancel date is), but we need at least 8 cabins booked by then or we lose the group status. 


    If you can put in the blog to encourage anyone who even might be interested (including yourselves in case your hips fail) just to put the deposit down, if we get at least 8 cabins, we’ll be good to go.

    Tree Project update: thanks to Diane McClug in Plano I am looking into some possibilities.

    November 4, Sunday Mass of Remembrance, i.e., remembering family members & friends no longer with us, tying it in with the All Saints feast.  We are talking about putting pictures & candles on a table on the stage or just on the stage.  Other ideas are welcome.

    Any adults or families interested in a spiritual growth program after Masses during the winter?  Jane Williams has offered to coordinate it.  I may even get to sit in occasionally.  J.S.

    I am searching for a job for one of our own, Rick Turner.  The last 8 years he has worked as a night warehouse man for Home Depot, which is now laying off numerous workers.  Does anyone have a lead on this kind of work or something similar?  He can do fork lift work, night work, etc. A good man.
