    True?

The mantra we frequently pray, "Come, Lord, Jesus, come," means somehow in Advent we have to make sure we are hungry, that is, that there is room inside us for "more."  Who else do I need to "take in" my heart and my mind?

Like Jesus, we can give the God who dwells in us a way of coming to human expression in the way we are neighbor, the way we are in solidarity with those who are different from us or who have less than we, the way we put an end to divisions, and the way we are more expansive and inclusive in our loving, forgiving and giving.

As we live this holy season of Advent, let us remember "God comes to you disguised as your life."*

We, the People, recognize that we have responsibilities as well as rights; that our destinies are bound together; that a freedom which only asks what’s in it for me, a freedom without love or charity or duty or patriotism, is unworthy of our founding ideals, and those who died in their defense.
