Sunday, July 18: Bon Voyage Celebration & brunch feasting Celeste who travels to Switzerland to teach English in a school.  A dream being fulfilled.

Thanks, Thanks: All who donated to the Blood Drive.  We had ovr 20 volunteers!  WOW! The next blood drive will be the first or second Sunday of December for Christmas.

Important Event Coming Up:

• Saturday, July 7: Roofing job in Rowlette, starting at 8:00 A.M., partnering with Lake Point Baptist.  If you can use a hammer, I need you.  Pizza for lunch.   Also, if you have them: bring tools like a framing nail gun, table saw, circular saw, extension ladder, old paint brushes for tar, extension cords, levels, and hand tools like hammers.  Get ready: We will have a ball!  Maybe no rain that day, please.

Thanksgiving Mass: Last Sunday of this Church Calendar Year: 9:30; coffee, donuts, home made muffins, & juice on the house.

Place: Vines High School on 15th between Custer & Independence.

Readings: Sirach 50 22-24; Psalm 113; 1 Corinthians 1, 3-9; Luke 17, 11-19 (these are the readings for Thanksgiving, Nov. 22, page 88 in our booklets) 

Thankgiving Tree: we will set up a tree with lights on the stage.  Nearby will be paper ornaments on which you may answer the question, " I thank God this year for…"  Use the ribbons to tie it onto the tree.  Kids will find special ornaments that have a picture to color on one side, while the blessing can be put on the other side.  We will keep it up every Sunday into Christmas Eve Mass at 4:00.  Perhaps a couple of blessings can be read anonymously each Sunday.  Our Thanksgiving continues into Christmas.

Tree Project update: maybe in December?  Waiting to hear from Collin Co. Child Advocacy Center, Park & Los Rios.

Nov. 17 Work Project: Alex Moore of Lakepoint Church helped us tremendously with our Rowlett house.  He now has a special renovation project which needs volunteer help.  It is quite a project involving another church in south Dallas.  Check out the project:  Download Nov. 17 Project.doc    Rosemary & I will be there. 1.  Habitat Build, Saturday morning, the Sept. 1, 11^th Street & Ave. E.  Welcome.  This is a unique experience of giving.

2.  Dallas Symphony Orchestra Christmas Concert.  It may be only August, but this superb performance sells out.  We get discounted tickets as a group.  Date: December 14, 8:00, tickets will be about $40.  Wine & Cheese at The Rectory pre-performance.  Traditionally, this has been a beautiful evening.

Rest Station around mile 60 keeping ahead of the water demand. High temp was only 94, but 30 mph. south winds made returning to Wichita Falls brutal.

Long lines for the port a potties the first 5 rest stations. From mile 60 on, short lines if any.
