Welcome: Catholic Mass with coffee and juice and pastries, both bought and home-made, after Mass.

Time: 9:30; Celebrate with the Community & Stack & Mike homilizing

Place: Vines High School, 15th between Custer & Independence.

Ezekiel  47, 1-2, 8-9, 12, I saw water flowing out from beneath the threshold of the temple.

Psalm 46,   The waters of the river gladden the city of God, the holy dwelling of the Most High.

1 Corinthians 3, 9-11, 16-17,  You are God’s building

John 2, 13-22,  He made a whip out of cords and drove them all out of the temple.

 

 

 Community Events:

1.     November 9, this Sunday, 10^th Anniversary of our Community, Sunday brunch.  The actual date of our debut was the Sunday before Thanksgiving, 2004.  We figure this Sunday is a better, more convenient date for celebrating.

2.    DOMEO MEET: Friday, November 7, Jason's Deli, Collin Creek Mall, west side of Central, 1:00.  All welcome.

 

 

3.    Ladies' luncheon, Thursdays,  

November; we are meeting Thursday, November 6, 4:30 pm, Steve Fields, 5013 W Park Blvd, Plano, TX 75093, (972) 596-7100.  NOTE THE CHANGE OF TIME!!!!    We’re going to happy hour, the lobster pizza is to die for and ½ price.

December; location not yet determined.  We’re looking for something holiday-ish to do.  Ideas?  Time not yet decided on.  Cathy says, "Elkes at Greenville in Allen or 5th St. Pizza, Stacy Furniture in Allen."

Louis Schneider of Open Windows has let us know of a possible project. 

Housing Forward has scheduled the Point-in-Time (PIT) count of the homeless in Dallas and Collin County for the night of January 26, 2023.  At this web site https://housingforwardntx.org/volunteer/, Housing Forward asks for Care Packages for the homeless. These packages will be given out when volunteers are doing their annual count in January.  If anyone would like to contribute a package or so, Carolyn Bentley, would be happy  to pick up the package for delivery on or before the 14th.  Her number is 214.789.2034.  Thanks!

Lumbar Stenosis update:

1.  Friday afternoon surgery on the back, spent the night in Presby Dallas.

2.  Wednesday morning about 9:30, I suddenly knew I could do it and I walked with no assistance from the dining room to the kitchen sink.  This was humbling and encouraging.    Actually, I felt like I had just climbed Kilimanjaro again.  Wow!
