2. Our community has donated $1000 each to Joplin, MO and to Bona Responds, the St. Bonaventure team that has taken our community members to Galveston & Tuscaloosa to do emergency help.
There is one piece of advice, in a life of study, which I think no one will object to; and that is, every now and then to be completely idle—to do nothing at all.
The Purple Stride Event to raise money for pancreatic cancer (this is the cancer Carol had) is being help at Klyde Warren park in Dallas on April 30th between 8:00 and 12:00. The event is a 5K walk or run. You can find more information at the following URL:

There is a volunteer opportunity on Saturday, April 9, 2022. The Annual All Kids Count Event and we need help from amazing people like you! The volunteer hours will be from 9 AM – 3 PM at Circle R. Ranch in Flower Mound.
They need volunteers to come out and help set up for the event, and assist at certain activities including horses, arts and crafts, games, bounce houses, food and drink stations, and more.

I talked to the President of Love for Kids, Todd Van Galen, and he shared with me the following information:
Number of Kids = 2800 to 3000
Number of Volunteers = 850 (35 from Vines)
Number of Buses= 60 plus 12 Va
Number of Coats given out = 850 (by the CPA Society)
Number of Hot Dogs consumed= 4500
Number of Kids Lost= NON
They are always looking for Leaders that can take a role before, during and after the event and if anyone is interested call Todd Van Galen at 214-557-2721.
There should be another picnic in the spring. I'll let everyone know.
