Community Events:

1. November 9, this Sunday, 10^th Anniversary of our Community, Sunday brunch. The actual date of our debut was the Sunday before Thanksgiving, 2004. We figure this Sunday is a better, more convenient date for celebrating.

2. DOMEO MEET: Friday, November 7, Jason's Deli, Collin Creek Mall, west side of Central, 1:00. All welcome.

3. Ladies' luncheon, Thursdays,

November; we are meeting Thursday, November 6, 4:30 pm, Steve Fields, 5013 W Park Blvd, Plano, TX 75093, (972) 596-7100. NOTE THE CHANGE OF TIME!!!! We’re going to happy hour, the lobster pizza is to die for and ½ price.

December; location not yet determined. We’re looking for something holiday-ish to do. Ideas? Time not yet decided on. Cathy says, "Elkes at Greenville in Allen or 5th St. Pizza, Stacy Furniture in Allen."

Community Events:

1. I made a mistake. Our next Habitat special day is not this Friday, June 8, but June 21, Friday. Look for the neighborhood behind the Home Depot on Central, 11^th& Ave. E. We have 3 more special JSMinistry days, June 21 (a Friday), July 13, and August 3. A person may also work any
Saturday. The house will need about 18 Saturdays of work.

2.   Romeos’ lunch Friday, June 7, 1:00, as usual. Jason's, Collin Creek.

3.   The Women's Lunch Group on Thursdays at noon is on. For info talk with Carol, Bernadette, or Maureen.

4. Note: I worked with Bona Responds this week in OK City and hand delivered our community's support, $1000. They are enormously grateful and I am so grateful to be part of you people, such a generous community. I have returned home physically and emotionally worn out. More details coming.

Footnote: twice in the past month I have been so proud to be part of you people, our community. I was told in OK that Bona Responds' single biggest support is you folks. Earlier, Brent told me the same thing about Soul's Harbor and you folks. I am most humbled to be part of you. Thanks.

3. From Bill Hammond, a spring break volunteer opportunity in Alabama:

As you know the tornado that went thru Tuscaloosa and Birmingham Alabama last April left a swath of destruction almost 200 miles long. Many of the larger communities have received help in cleaning up and reconstructing over the last 9 months. There are some areas North and West of Birmingham that have not received much help and need assistance.

Bona Responds is a volunteer group mostly of students from my Alma Mater St Bonaventure University in Western New York, that go out on their vacation days to assist in the rebuilding in these areas. The next trip will be during their Spring Break February 25^th thru March 2^nd in Walker County Alabama. They were there in early January this year and found such a tremendous need that they are going back over their Spring Break.

They need some adult assistance and I am planning on going for several days (TBD based on everyone’s availability) to help and I’m looking for others that would like to join me. I plan on driving my suburban and if we need more room we can take other cars. The accommodations are to be determined but most likely in a local church. Meals may be provided by the locals and if so the expense are very minimal. The work ranges from minor repairs to construction so there is something for everyone’s skill level. All that is required of you is a positive attitude and a willingness to help out. Please give me a call or send me an E-Mail and let’s discuss supporting this effort. If you know of anyone else not on this E-Mail that would be interested please pass it on. Thanks
