20th Sunday in Ordinary Time, August 16, 2026

Isaiah 56:  . . .
for my house shall be called a house of prayer for all peoples.
Romans 11:  I am speaking to you Gentiles. Inasmuch as I am the apostle to the Gentiles, I glory in my ministry in order to make my race jealous and thus save some of them.
Matthew 15:  Then Jesus said to her in reply, “O woman, great is your faith! Let it be done for you as you wish.”

Some artists are cooks. Some of them are welders. Some of them are counselors. Some of them are technicians or accountants or teachers. “Just as writing can become calligraphy when it’s creatively, skillfully, and consciously performed,” H. E. Davey wrote, “so can all other activities become art.”

12th Sunday in Ordinary Time, June 21, 2026

Jeremiah 20:  But the LORD is with me, like a mighty champion: my persecutors will stumble, they will not triumph. In their failure they will be put to utter shame, to lasting, unforgettable confusion.
Romans 5:  But the gift is not like the transgression. For if by the transgression of the one the many died, how much more did the grace of God and the gracious gift of the one man Jesus Christ overflow for the many.
Matthew 10:  Are not two sparrows sold for a small coin? Yet not one of them falls to the ground without your Father’s knowledge. Even all the hairs of your head are counted. So do not be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.

Serenity is not the ability to accommodate wrongs; it is the ability to point them out without apology. “Not to be angered by injustice,” Eknath Easwaran writes, “is a lack of sensitivity.”
