21st Sunday in Ordinary Time, August 23, 2026

Isaiah 22:  He shall be a father to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and to the house of Judah.  I will place the key of the House of David on Eliakim’s shoulder; when he opens, no one shall shut, when he shuts, no one shall open.
Romans 11:  Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God!  How inscrutable are his judgments and how unsearchable his ways!
Matthew 16:  “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah.  For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my heavenly Father.  And so I say to you, you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of the netherworld shall not prevail against it.  I will give you the keys to the kingdom of heaven. . . .”

They asked Duke Ellington how he learned to play such soulful
music and he told them, “I merely took the energy it takes to pout and wrote some blues.” Point: It’s learning to let what’s in us out that is the key to becoming the fullness of the self.

    Senior Citizen Angel Tree

As many of you know, I’m part of a lovely company called Caring Transitions that helps seniors downsize and relocate and conduct estate sales. Similar to the angel trees that you see in shopping malls for children, senior citizens also need our help to make their holidays brighter. If you’re interested in “sponsoring” a senior citizen or if you simply want to donate money and I’ll be happy to be your personal shopper, please contact me at lynda.fleming23@gmail.com. All gifts need to be dropped off to me by December 5th.

Thanks, in advance, for your thoughtfulness and generosity!
