Thanks, Thanks: All who donated to the Blood Drive.  We had ovr 20 volunteers!  WOW! The next blood drive will be the first or second Sunday of December for Christmas.

• Saturday, July 7: Roofing job in Rowlette, starting at 8:00 A.M., partnering with Lake Point Baptist.  If you can use a hammer, I need you.  Pizza for lunch.   Also, if you have them: bring tools like a framing nail gun, table saw, circular saw, extension ladder, old paint brushes for tar, extension cords, levels, and hand tools like hammers.  Get ready: We will have a ball!  Maybe no rain that day, please.

Thanksgiving Mass: Last Sunday of this Church Calendar Year: 9:30; coffee, donuts, home made muffins, & juice on the house.

Place: Vines High School on 15th between Custer & Independence.

Readings: Sirach 50 22-24; Psalm 113; 1 Corinthians 1, 3-9; Luke 17, 11-19 (these are the readings for Thanksgiving, Nov. 22, page 88 in our booklets) 

Thankgiving Tree: we will set up a tree with lights on the stage.  Nearby will be paper ornaments on which you may answer the question, " I thank God this year for…"  Use the ribbons to tie it onto the tree.  Kids will find special ornaments that have a picture to color on one side, while the blessing can be put on the other side.  We will keep it up every Sunday into Christmas Eve Mass at 4:00.  Perhaps a couple of blessings can be read anonymously each Sunday.  Our Thanksgiving continues into Christmas.

Tree Project update: maybe in December?  Waiting to hear from Collin Co. Child Advocacy Center, Park & Los Rios.

Nov. 17 Work Project: Alex Moore of Lakepoint Church helped us tremendously with our Rowlett house.  He now has a special renovation project which needs volunteer help.  It is quite a project involving another church in south Dallas.  Check out the project:  Download Nov. 17 Project.doc    Rosemary & I will be there. 3. Love for the Kids picnic, December 12.  Book it.  Bill will have a signup sheet.  This is a great event for underprivileged kids, hundreds of them.                                                                                                                                            
4. Services of Hope, 6540 Victoria Ave. Dallas: still want to help out with serving the less fortunate at Thanksgiving, like we used to do at the church? Book the Saturday before Thanksgiving, November 21.                                                                                                                                          I would say that this is a little different than our former experience.  The charity will pack over a 1000 Thanksgiving dinner baskets.  Instead of serving a meal, volunteers will load the baskets and hand them to the appropriate people.

   There are two hand out times, morning & afternoon.  I think Rosemary & I will spend a couple of hours there, probably late morning or, say, around 3:00 in the afternoon.
