1.  Habitat Build, Saturday morning, 11^th Street & Ave. E.  Welcome.  This is a unique experience of giving.

2.  Dallas Symphony Orchestra Christmas Concert.  It may be only August, but this superb performance sells out.  We get discounted tickets as a group and because we know someone.  Date: December 14, 8:00, tickets will be $37 or $47.  Wine & Cheese at The Rectory pre-performance.  Traditionally, this has been a beautiful evening.

3.  Free Medical Clinic in September (message from John Ernst, CCAC):   "September 29, there will be a large one day free clinic at the Dallas Convention Center sponsored by our national organization, of which we are members.  Thousands of people will be served all by volunteers."  Download Medical clinic 8-10-12

If interested in helping to tutor math on Tuesday evenings, 6:00pm to 7:30 pm, at Harrington Library you can find out more about the program at:  http://www.intellichoice.org/   You will work with kids from grade 1 to grade 12.  Materials provided.  I have helped out for about 5 years.  The program is wonderful and the kids at Harrington are great.

Close to ticket time for Christmas:   Two performances at two different venues, one at the Meyerson as usual, the other at the brand new Winspear Opera House.  The plans:

    1.  December 10, Thursday, 7:30: The Meyerson.  Christmas Special, $55 (New Director this Christmas.  David Davidson died of cancer Saturday.)

    2.  December 15, Tuesday, 8:00:   The Winspear, South Pacific, $50 (cheapest in the house; with 15 or more we get better seats at $55)  Our man at the Dallas Morning News, Roger Jones, tells me the Winspear's beauty will take my breath away.  See his op ed in last Sunday's paper. 

An extra: pre-performance wine & cheese at the Tulip Lane parsonage with a tour through the best Christmas decorations in Dallas, i.e., Highland Park.

Let Rosemary or me know if you would like one or both performances.
